Meet Ken
Kenneth Mobley is a retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer with over 20 years of distinguished service, including three combat tours. Throughout his military career, he embodied the core values of dedication, commitment, and selfless service. He gained extensive leadership and operational experience managing complex logistics aboard an aircraft carrier—essentially a floating city of more than 6,200 people.
This high-pressure environment demanded precision, adaptability, and collaborative problem-solving—skills directly applicable to understanding and managing municipal budgets and services.
A defining element of Kenneth’s career was his dedication to mentorship and leadership development. He consistently invested in the growth of junior sailors and officers, building effective teams capable of overcoming serious challenges. His ability to nurture talent and foster unity is highly relevant to creating a strong, collaborative city government.
A long-time Shelton resident, Kenneth has raised his five children in the community he proudly calls home. He remains deeply involved in local service, including roles on the YMCA Advisory Board, as a Local Ecclesiastical Leader, and as a Cub Scout Den and Pack Leader.
He has also volunteered with organizations such as Mason County Kitten Rescue and OysterFest. His current pursuit of licensure as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) reflects his commitment to informed, compassionate, and proactive solutions for community issues.
Kenneth Mobley is running for Shelton City Council to help build a more prosperous, resilient, and connected community. He brings a wealth of leadership experience, a strong service ethic, and a deep passion for Shelton’s future.
